R.I.P. Moebius

Legendary cartoonist Jean Giraud, known best as Moebius, has died in Paris. There are a few artists who have been true trail-blazers in comics, and Moebius strode in that company as a giant.

I found out about Moebius' passing from my friend and partner in comics Michael lagocki of ArtLoveMagic, who posted about it on Facebook:
"Where to begin? Linework, brilliant ideas, powerful compositions. Moebius truly deserved the term "NEXT LEVEL" decades before it came to be part of popular vernacular. His work lifted us and opened third eyes..."
Even if you have never seen and enjoyed his work first hand, Moebius has had such an impact on contemporary comics and illustration that it's impossible to have escaped its influence. We will definitely miss him, but at 73 years old he left a phenomenal body of work that will ensure he is always remembered.
