I don't really have much to say about All-New X-men #32. From what I can tell, this X-book stars the original five X-men (Angel, Iceman, Jean Grey, Cyclops and a relatively hairless Beast), transplanted from the past into the present day. Now they have also been transported into the Ultimate Universe, where they meet Miles Morales, the all-new Afrolatino Spider-man...
The sales pitch
• Dimension-hopping is something of an X-Men rite of passage and it’s about time the All-New X-Men took the plunge!
• I guess you don’t always have to travel Miles away to visit a new place…
• But will the web they find themselves tangled in Ultimately bring about their end?
Artist Mahmud Asrar is reason enough to check this book out. I first got a look at Asrar's art back when he was working on Dynamo 5with Jay Faeber, and he has only gotten better since then. He reminds me of cats like Carlos Pacheco and Ryan Ottley, both of whom manage to balance classical elements and fresh, new stylization in their work. Asrar has done the same on All-New X-Men. And of course Bendis is writing it. So there's that. Marvel's diversity offensive continues. I think it's funny that a generally diverse book like X-men needs a shot of color (Nostalgia kills, people!) but having Miles stroll through the book for a few issues can't really hurt, can it? I love the idea of Kitty Pryde graduating up to this leadership role. She's definitely earned it!
Anyways, All-New X-men #32 arrives in stores Wednesday September 17th.
Peace,

Samax Amen draws people, places and things for fun and profit. He is the artist of many great comics you never heard of like Herman Heed, Champion of Children, The Brother and The World As You Know It. He even writes and draws his own comics, like Dare: The Adventures of Darius Davidson, Spontaneous, and Manchild when he gets around to it. Because making comics is hard and stuff, he started GhettoManga as a blog in 2006 and as a print magazine in 2008.
