When Napoleon Da Legend and SugarCayne get together on a track, good things happen, ya dig? Peep MC Borg and Freedom or Death off their upcoming EP Supernovacaynepo...
Dope. So the drawing above is an old fan art I drew after reading NYC Mech a million years ago. Because you care, click here for a review of NYC Mech: Beta Love that I wrote in 2006 (yeah, I have been blogging a long time...).
Anyways, Napoleon and Cayne are crazy dope together. I lost my shit when they dropped The SugarCayne Experiment Vol 1: Napoleon Da Legend in 2011. Volume 1 featured Napoleon spitting his usual densely packed lyrics on beats Cayne had laying around since the mid-nineties, conjuring visions of rap's glory days. Now it looks like the duo is done looking back and ready to comment on hip hop's future a little.
I for one can't wait to hear more. Napoleon is an insanely hard-working emcee who never seems to take a break from rhyming, but never runs out of shit to say, and Cayne has done enough to make hip hop and comics play nice together that I'm not sure if he should be working for me or if I should be working for him. Whatever the case, when I get a chance to hear SugarCaynePo, I will let ya'll know what I think of it.
peace...
