Before Mike Mignola went Hollywood along with his most famous creation, Hellboy owned an unbreakable grip on the top spot on my "buy pile." Despite the efforts of some very sincere and talented artists, I was never able to sustain any enthusiasm for Hellboy comics not drawn by Mignola. So as you can imagine, these elegant pages from the new Hellboy In Hell #1 and 2 got me very, very excited...
Here's the Sales pitch:
After saving the world in The Storm and The Fury, but sacrificing himself and Great Britain, Hellboy is dead, cast into Hell, where he finds many familiar faces, and a throne that awaits him.
Mike Mignola returns to draw Hellboy's ongoing story for the first time since Conqueror Worm. It's a story only Mignola could tell, as more of Hellboy's secrets are at last revealed, in the most bizarre depiction of Hell you've ever seen.
Okay, I'm fired up. But maybe it's just me. Hellboy In Hell #1 hits stores December 5th. That'll give me time to breathe in a paper bag or something...
